Supported Automation Software
The current v1.x Airwave release supports the automation workflows published for the released application. Planned future integrations are not listed here until they ship.
- SAM Broadcaster: supported current/next metadata and Airwave SAMQueue/PAL handoff workflow.
- RadioDJ: supported RadioDJ integration. The currently tested target is RadioDJ 2.0.5.1; other versions may work, but are not officially supported unless Airwave specifically lists them.
- PlayIt Live: current v1.x compatibility is through supported text/file export workflows.
- Generic: compatible text, CSV, pipe-delimited, or JSON current/next metadata exports may be used where the exported fields match Airwave's supported Generic workflow.
Internet and AI Service Requirements
Airwave uses cloud services for AI scripting/voice generation and several online functions. A reliable Internet connection is required for normal production use.
- Cloud AI generation requires Internet access and valid credentials for the configured provider.
- Licensing validation, update checks, weather, Live News, and customer-account functions use online services.
- Third-party AI-provider accounts, API keys, quotas, availability, and provider charges are separate from the Airwave software license.
- Do not design a station workflow around permanent offline operation.
No Separate .NET Runtime Required
The official Airwave Windows installer is self-contained. You do not need to download or install a separate Microsoft .NET runtime before installing Airwave.
Storage and Performance Notes
- Generated audio, saved evergreen audio, music beds, Live News audio, logs, and support bundles can increase storage use over time.
- An SSD is strongly preferred when Airwave shares a computer with radio automation or other audio software.
- If the playout application, encoder, audio editor, browser, and Airwave all run at once, additional RAM provides useful headroom.
- Keep sufficient free disk space for Windows, the playout application, Airwave output, and temporary update files.
If the Computer Is Below Specification
A computer below the minimum may install or appear to work, but it is not a configuration Airwave can rely on for stable station operation. Before troubleshooting Airwave itself:
- Close unnecessary applications and background tools.
- Confirm at least the minimum free storage and memory are available.
- Use a stable broadband connection and verify the selected AI provider is reachable.
- Confirm the automation export and Airwave output folders are local, accessible, and writable.
- If possible, move Airwave to a Windows 11 computer with an SSD and additional RAM.
